Evidence-based clinical practice guideline for the management of primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) in pediatric population

Introduction: Primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is the most common cause of in children, with a reported incidence 1.1-12.5 cases per 100 000 children. However, currently, there are several definitions ITP, as well diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. Objective: To develop an evidence-based clinical practice guideline (CPG) to standardize definition ITP and, this way, reduce variability its diagnosis, provide indications for treatment acute, persistent, chronic patients under 18 years age. Materials methods: The CPG was prepared by multidisciplinary group that followed Grading Recommendations, Assessment, Development Evaluations (GRADE) guidelines developing CPGs, formulated PICO questions, conducted systematic reviews. GRADE evidence profiles were created recommendations, their corresponding level strength, made after panel experts assessed benefit-risk balance, quality evidence, patients’ values preferences, context which they should be implemented. Results: A total 23 recommendations pediatricians, hematologists, health professionals working emergency services treating ITP. Overall, has low order improve success rate prognosis children condition. Conclusions: Although main pediatrics, date not enough high-quality supports presented here proper classification Thus, further studies providing on issue required.
